Multipower Sportsfood become official sports nutrition supplier of Leeds rugby
Leading European Sports Nutrition Company, Multipower has announced it has become the official sports nutrition supplier of the Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Carnegie rugby clubs.
Multipower will provide both the Rhinos and Carnegie with a range of sports nutrition products as a key training partner to help prepare for, compete in and recover from matches.
As well as providing Multipower with ongoing access to and feedback from both teams’ coaching and playing staff, the deal will also elevate the brand’s visibility in both the Engage Super League and Aviva Premiership as it includes ground advertising plus branded coaching staff and drinks bottles.
Multipower UK Marketing Manager, Steve Kessell said, “We’re thrilled to have signed two rugby clubs with the sporting history of Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Carnegie. We have sponsored Yorkshire Cricket for 3 years, so this deal makes Headingley Carnegie a real Multipower stronghold, with three sponsored teams on the same site.
‘Sports nutrition is crucial for any professional athlete and this is never more true than with rugby – whichever code. We look forward to working closely with both teams, as we already do with RC Toulon and Castleford Tigers, to help get the best from all of their players.”
To celebrate the announcement Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Carnegie went head to head in a Rugby League versus Rugby Union strength challenge. World Strongest Man competitor and Multipower ambassador, Darren Sadler was on hand to keep order across a number of disciplines including the Farmer’s Walk, Crucifix Hold and Dumbbell Shoulder Press.
The Leeds Carnegie players ultimately took the spoils by beating their Leeds Rhinos counterparts by 35.5 points to 27.5.
