SGD$10m Damai spa opens in Singapore
A new SGD$10m (£4.52m, US$£6.95m, €4.81m) Hyatt Pure spa opened 22 September at the Grand Hyatt Singapore hotel in Singapore, south east Asia.
Designed by architects Super Potato, the 78,000sq ft (7,245sq m) spa called Damai features 11 treatment rooms, each with its own water feature and outdoor garden. Couples’ suites include an indoor stone tub overlooking a private outdoor water terrace. Spa design is based on the concept of embracing the local environment and construction used indigenous materials wherever possible.
Treatments focus on healing philosophies practised in Singapore and include balancing via traditional Chinese medicine; healing using Malay Jamu and purifying using ayurveda. The facility uses US-based June Jacobs spa products, which are specially customised with orchid essence for the spa’s signature treatment, the Damai Orchid massage.
The spa uses Nuage signature beds imported from Living Earth Craft in the US and the boulders featured in each room are from Chiang Mai in Thailand. Hyatt Pure spa now operates over 70 spas worldwide. Details: hyatt.com
