Belfast communities are being consulted this week regarding opportunities to improve local sport and leisure facilities in tandem with the development of Windsor Park and Casement Park.
Northern Ireland sports minister Caral Ni Chuilin has pledged £130m to sport developments in the city, including the two stadia.
Belfast City Council is consulting residents on opportunities to provide public leisure facilities in both stadia, a welcoming boulevard style entrance to Windsor Park, relocating the Olympia Community Centre, improving access at Midgley Park and creating commercial opportunities on nearby Boucher and Andersonstown Roads.
The council is currently reviewing leisure facilities across the city and says centres are getting older and the city will also gain new residents from April 2015 due to local government reforms.
It will also consider how to pay for upgrades and developments, potential agreements with the IFA and GAA over public use of stadia, and land agreements, planning permission and other legal matters.
The council will present detailed proposals on how it will maximise the benefit of both sports venues to the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure by May 2013.
