APSWC publishes its strategic planning report
The Asia-Pacific Spa & Wellness Council (APSWC) has published a report from the strategic planning forum it organised to mark its first anniversary.
The forum, which took place in Bali on 9-10 March, brought together national associations, spa industry leaders, operators, suppliers and consultants in order to create a strategic plan to ensure the continued growth of the Asia-Pacific spa industry.
The report details how a total of 72 industry leaders from 16 countries attended the forum, which was structured around seven speakers and breakout groups formed by sectors, including day and medical spas.
In developing a tangible plan for the future, key actions were identified and grouped under ‘Five Pillars’. These include developing a regional system of accreditation and improving professional spa education.
An APSWC task force will now be formed to implement the pillar programmes, and, the council will formally register as an association, to be based in Singapore.
