Stadium schemes put forward by Rotherham United Football Club (RUFC) and FC United of Manchester (FCUM) have both received the green light.

RUFC's bid to relocate to a new venue at the former Guest and Chrimes Foundry site in the South Yorkshire town has been approved by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.

Preparatory work started on-site in September with Gleeds project managing the scheme, which will see the npower League Two club back in the town for the first time since 2008. Meanwhile, FCUM's plans for a 5,000-capacity venue at the Ten Acres Lane sports centre in Newton Heath has been given the go ahead by Manchester City Council.
