YeloSpa launches DryBlo bar at new San Juan Hilton Doubletree location
The YeloSpa San Juan, which opened this month in Puerto Rico, is the first of its kind to offer a hair-drying and manicure service called YeloSpa DryBlo bar.
The DryBlo bar involves suspended mirrors and hair drying facilities in order to allow guests to dry off after their use of sauna and steamroom facilities. The 10 mirrors and dryers bounce back to their suspended positions after use.
On the fifth floor of the 65,000sq ft (6,038sq m) Gallery Plaza retail centre, YeloSpa San Juan was created by developers Swiss Chalet. The 4,525sq ft (420sq m) facility features eight treatment rooms, a couples' room plus a lounge for life coaching.
“We’re estimating that at 30 per cent occupancy, we would see 15,000 visitors in our first year,” owner and CEO of YeloSpa, Nicholas Ronco told Spa Business.
Exclusive to the YeloSpa’s Puerto Rican location, Kerstin Florian and Naturopathica are the skincare suppliers for the spa’s facial therapies.
Dubbed WetDry areas by YeloSpa, the thermal facilities on-site include a salt-water flotarium with an infinity edge – where guests receive reflexology while floating – plus a rainfall hallway with three different temperatures and a vapour room.
“The space is architecturally unique because of the flow it creates,” Ronco said.
BZ Architects, led by Cesar Bobonis were in charge of the overall designs and the interior design involved Janelle Thon from Nine and Reynold Rodriguez from La Factoria Group.
YeloSpa rents commercial space from the Hilton Doubletree but the spa has a VIP cabin inside the hotel for more private treatments.
