New ayurveda and yoga clinic launches in Chicago
Hamsa, a new privately-owned ayurveda and yoga clinic, has opened in North Centre, Chicago, US offering each guest a personalised experience.
Guests begin the spa journey with a consultation that aims to explore the client's mind/body constitution and relevant concerns. Pulse diagnosis, tongue assessment, medical history, and client input are also part of the process.
A full evaluation is then made and a personalised lifestyle programme based on ayurveda is developed.
The consultations commonly target issues such as weight management; mind/body balance; supportive therapy for disease; digestive imbalances; emotional release; and sleep disorders.
Thailams medical oils that are imported from India are used during treatments.
The spa menu offers several detoxification programs, such as our home based cleanse programs and our 4-week detoxification course.
An intestinal healing course will also be taught throughout the year to educate people about methods of self-healing and detoxification.
A yoga series for those looking to immerse themselves in an 'ayurvedic based' lifestyle is available. Hamsa's owner, entrepreneur Monica Yearwood, said that every season has a certain influence on human physiology so a range of seasonal courses are on offer such as 'Fall Rejuvenation,' Winter Immunity,' and 'Spring Detox.'
Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old medical system from India that emphasises preventative medicine through lifestyle practices, individual purpose, ayurvedic treatments, and an altered diet.
