Cornwall’s Fowey Hall reveals new spa
A luxury spa has opened at the Fowey Hall hotel near the seaside town of Fowey in Cornwall, UK.
Located alongside the hotel, the £1.5m (US$2.31m, 1.79m euro) Aquae Sulis Retreat is being managed and overseen by the Luxury Family Hotels arm of the von Essen hotel group.
The spa has been designed by architectural firm Childs and Sulzman from Bristol, UK, with interior design carried out by the in-house creative team at von Essen hotels.
The facility boasts four treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool and a deck area with a hot tub overlooking the nearby Fowey Estuary.
A range of signature Aquae Sulis treatments are available, together with therapies using French skincare brand Yon-ka and ante- and post-natal products by Mama Mio.
Fowey Hall was built as a private home in 1899 by Sir Charles Hanson, later the Lord Mayor of London. It is said to be the inspiration for Toad Hall in the classic children’s novel The Wind in the Willows, by Kenneth Grahame.
It was acquired by the von Essen group in 2006 as part of its Luxury Family Hotels group portfolio.
