A new campaign to promote participation at all levels - Pass The Baton - has been unveiled by the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) ahead of the Paralympic Games.
The organisation said it hoped that the increased interest in the Games will help establish an inclusive legacy for disabled people after the event reaches its conclusion on 9 September.
Nine London Underground and three Newcastle Metro stations will host the poster element of the campaign, which aims to emphasise the availability of sport for all.
Meanwhile, participants can sign up to a fundraising event or register online for information on sport and exercise programmes as part of Pass The Baton.
EFDS chief executive Barry Horne said: "We know the London 2012 Paralympic Games is a fantastic opportunity to motivate more disabled people in sport.
"So while you celebrate the achievements of our elite disabled athletes, who have followed their dreams in sport, let's get together and make more opportunities inclusive."
