A London Assembly committee is to examine the decisions that led to the collapse of a deal to sell the Olympic Stadium to West Ham United Football Club at a meeting next week.
Last month, the government revealed the venue will no longer be sold to the npower Championship club and will instead remain in public ownership, while being offered out on a lease basis.
The London Assembly's Economy, Culture and Sport (ECS) Committee is to examine why the deal collapsed and implications for the longer-term legacy of the venue on 8 November.
ECS Committee chair Dee Doocey said: "Six years after London won the bid and we seem to be back to square one, with no agreement on who will take over the stadium.
"The collapse of the West Ham deal risks significant delay and potential cost. We want to know what went wrong and what the consequences will be for the OPLC and the taxpayer."
