Clark Hatch opens tenth health club in Thailand and launches LifeSpa
Clark Hatch International will soon have ten health clubs in Bangkok, when it opens it's latest club in the Seri Centre, in the Eastern suburbs of the city next month.
At least two more Clark Hatch centres are planned to open in Bangkok, with Chang Mai also being considered for a possible site. All three will open in 2002.
So far this year, two new Clark Hatch centres have opened - one in Vibhavadi, the other at Grand China Tower, in the centre of Bangkok's Chinatown.
Clark Hatch operates over 60 1,000sqm sized fitness centres in Asia, providing an average of 500 members per club with complimentary programming and instruction, a swimming pool, juice bar, relaxation area, steam bath and at many clubs, free exercise clothing.
Managing Director, John Sheppard says 'Despite serious competition from California Fitness and Fitness First, our business is booming. The average Thai enjoys and appreciates the extras we give them and the chance to socialise in a more relaxed environment than the 'fitness factories' which are opening up.'
Besides the core business of fitness centres, Clark Hatch is poised to branch out into the spa business with its LifeSpa concept. Initially, this will involve upgrading existing massage services at clubs in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
