Van Gogh on the go at National Galleries of Scotland
The National Galleries of Scotland has launched its first video podcasts as a way of finding out more about exhibitions and enjoying a visit to the gallery.
The podcasts have started with an introduction and tour of the recently opened Van Gogh exhibition at the Dean Gallery.
The second podcast will coincide with the Ron Mueck exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy Building.
The podcasts aim to:
• attract new audiences
• offer enhanced visitor experience and visitor satisfaction
• increase ticket sales
• modernise brand perception
The podcast is a free audio/video file that can be viewed online at www.nationalgalleries.org/vangogh/podcurator.html or downloaded to an iPod or MP3 player and brought along to the exhibition itself.
Visitors can either listen to the podcast in advance or, because the content is structured in the same order as the works on display, let it guide them around the exhibition.
