Large Anantara hotel planned for Central China
A 200-hectare, 150-bedroom hotel by luxury brand Anantara is to open in the Chinese city of Chengdu.
The hotel will be a fairly low, wide structure with plenty of natural light throughout, owing to the large number of windows all around it.
The whole project incorporates a 47-hectare eco-wetland park and, beyond its 150 bedrooms and suites, will have an all-day dining restaurant, speciality restaurant and lobby lounge.
Other features include a bar/tea lounge, gym, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, spa, children’s club, additional recreational and leisure facilities, and banqueting and meeting facilities.
It has been strategically located in the city’s Qingyang district, where there are currently no upscale and luxury hotels nor any international branded hotels.
"We are excited to announce the first Anantara in Chengdu, China," said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Anantara parent company Minor Hotels. "This addition to our portfolio demonstrates our commitment to growth in up and coming destinations, while foreseeing and responding to demand in a way that places us firmly as a strong market leader in Asia Pacific, and beyond."
Anantara Jinsha Chengdu Hotel is scheduled to open in 2021.
